It’s been taking a bit, but I’m finally becoming satisfied with the look of my website and blog (although there’s still a lot of work ahead of me behind the scenes). I am constantly changing the look of it though, it’s just never quite finished. That reminds me – last fall I connected with Erin Anacker, founder of Pixology, through her newsletter. (If you’re a creative of any kind, I highly recommend that you subscribe to it as soon as possible. She sends the best little notes ever.) Erin sent some questions after I signed up and I just thought I’d share my answers.
What do you absolutely LOVE about design?
I love that it is an outlet to my creative side, I love that it allows me to help others, and gives me the opportunity to connect with so many other amazing creative and talented people [which I look forward to getting back into!]. I am also an indecisive person – one day I am in love with neutral colors and patterns, the next I am in love with bold reds or soft peach colors and solid lines – and designing makes it possible for me to change something that is mine without having to worry about spending [hundreds] of dollars. It’s a little easier to change the color palette of my website rather than the entire decor of my living room!
Do you have a current obsession?!
I’m obsessed with interior design/home decor ideas right now! My husband and I just bought our first house, and I am constantly daydreaming about the things I want to do to it. I am so pumped about sharing that journey with everyone!
Is there anything I can help you with?
Keep being you, I just found you and have already favorited at least two of your tweets. I have benefitted so much from connecting with other creatives, small businesses, etc. I’ve also been hoping to find a mentor for developing my WordPress/Web design skills. I love self-education, I love reading and having those ‘aha!’ moments, but sometimes I wish I could just turn to a mentor/friend and ask the kinds of questions I’m afraid to ask others due to the fear that they will [look down on me].
