Our Valentine’s celebration this year was so romantic and peaceful. Brian came home early with roses, a ton of chocolate and wine, and then we picked up some dinner to bring with us before heading out to Pilot Knob Inn Bed & Breakfast. With all the snow still on the ground, everything just looked so much more beautiful. Our cabin was so cute and rustic, I loved it! One of the neighbors in the next cabin walked over and we talked with her for a second before taking a walk in the snow down to the lake. When we got back to the cabin, we popped open the wine and sat on the rocking chairs on the porch to watch the sunset. Afterwards, Brian built a real wood-burning fire for us. He was so funny when he got the fire going. It was like that scene with Tom Hanks in Castaway.
Even though they had TV and internet in the cabin, we didn’t even need it. Some very romantic shenanigans went down, and we also spent the night eating, talking, laughing and we both fantasized about owning our own mountain cabin one day that we could escape to whenever we wanted. Wouldn’t that be wonderful? In the morning we went for breakfast and met the wife of the husband-and-wife team that owns and runs the B&B, and she was so sweet. I really hope we get to go back one day.
