Weekend #36 + Sneak Peek

This weekend went by way too fast :( I was especially sad when Brian left today.

Friday

I met up with my friend Ashley who’s been gone for the last 6 months working for Disney Cruise Lines. I missed her so much it is ridiculous. I’m so glad she’s home for awhile, although she’ll be reporting back to Cape Canaveral in May. Well, anyway, this Friday I met her at Pullen Park in Raleigh, because she’s helping me get used to the settings on my camera and my new lenses that I got for Christmas, and we had a silly mini photo shoot. I’ll be posting the entire session tomorrow hopefully, but here’s a little preview.

Beautiful! Afterward, we went to Los Tres to watch the State game, and right when Brian got into town I had to take Ashley back to her car, so Brian just met me back in Chapel Hill.

Saturday

We got pizza from Sal’s and finally watched Wreck-It Ralph. I loved it, that movie is so cute.

Okay, well, I need to use today to catch on some office work, and add some graphic design projects to my portfolio. After work tomorrow I have another photo session with a Web client of mine. It’s a product photo shoot for her online store, should be fun. Oh, and this week make sure to watch the blog and our Facebook for a giveaway announcement coming up! Weekend #35 + My First ZARA Purchase

Brian and I have been having some great weekend adventures lately. I can’t believe we’re on weekend #35 already. I’m just looking forward to this July. That’s when we’re shooting for coming back together hopefully in our first house.

I’m behind on our ‘Weekenders’ series, but I can at least get last weekend out. Brian drove in this past Friday and we went to dinner at Los Tres Magueyes in Cary. Our old spot. I really miss that. They totally recognize our faces still every time we go there, haha. We stopped into Stein Mart afterward and Brian had his eye on a beautiful suit. Hopefully I can pull some strings and surprise him with it soon. He 1000% deserves it, he’s been working so hard. Hopefully he won’t get upset that I spent so much money on him.. I can totally see him returning it, haha. Even better than Stein Mart, he let me take him thrifting for the first time. Pretty awesome.

Saturday

We spent the early afternoon watching the ACC Tournament, then Brian studied and even I got some work done. We’re such old farts.

Sunday

We ate at our other old spot, The Gourmet Factory in Raleigh. We’ve been going there since before we got engaged, and sort of discovered it by accident. That place is a diamond in the rough. Before Brian left town we stopped by the grocery store and he bought me some milk and we dropped it off at my office to store in our office fridge so that I could enjoy my Special K cereal without having to bring the milk on the bus with me the next day.

Now. Onto my very first purchase from ZARA that I’ve been wanting to share. Did anyone see this mysterious Instagram photo of mine? I know, it’s taken me long enough to reveal.. but here it is!

The ZARA Shopper with Braided Handles in Nude. I’ve been setting aside little by little each month and decided I would get this for myself for my birthday which was on March 7. So worth the wait. There are some leather bags by ZARA I have my eye on, but I’ll have to wait on those. I’m actually thinking of making this bag my camera bag for a little while, and perfect timing, too, because I’m going to be photographing my friend Ashley this Friday, and then I have a beauty product photo shoot coming up for one of my clients’ online store. So excited!

Weekend #33 + #34

Brian and I didn’t see each other for weekend #33 since we knew we would be spending nearly the entire following week together to celebrate my birthday. Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday!

For weekend #34 we continued celebrating my birthday with good food, the Charlotte Bobcats game, more good food, cheesecake cupcakes from Jazzy Cheesecakes, more awesome food at American Roadside, and then watching the Duke v. Carolina game at Chili’s and stuffing our faces.

The next day was exceptionally hard. Not only did it signify the end of my amazing birthday week, but I had to go back to Chapel Hill. I got pretty weepy one night (thanks vodka) about us being apart, but Brian promised me that we would be absolutely done with this by this July.

Weekend #32

Weekend #32 came and went.

Brian drove into town on Friday and we headed out to our regular spot, Los Tres. On Saturday we made a trip out to his friends’ (Adam and Ann) house in Durham, and our friend Dusty met us out there. We went to watch the game at Tobacco Road, then went to Dain’s Place for dinner.

Sunday, we had breakfast together and watched Here Comes the Boom before Brian had to leave.
